About the Opportunity
Working as a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals experiencing harms related to drug and/or alcohol use.
This part-time fixed-term position is available at our organisation, where you will be a valued member of a multidisciplinary team.
As a skilled counsellor, you will provide expert support to those in need, utilising your knowledge and expertise to create a safe and supportive environment.
Key Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in nursing, social work, psychology or allied health.
* Current registration with relevant authorities.
* Proven experience working with individuals who have identified drug and/or alcohol-related issues.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills within the field.
* Understanding of harm minimisation principles.
* Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex problems in counselling and crisis situations.
* Expertise in conducting assessments, case planning, treatment, and discharge planning.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
