Due to continued growth of the Leadership Team, our client, Goldfields Community Legal Centre Inc. (GCLC) is seeking an experienced and values-driven Principal Solicitor to lead its legal practice and provide senior legal leadership across the organisation.
This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the quality, safety and integrity of legal service delivery, supervising and supporting legal staff, and contributing to the strategic leadership of the organisation. You will work closely with the CEO to ensure GCLC delivers high-quality, client-centred and trauma-informed legal services across the Goldfields–Esperance region.

You will be based in the Kalgoorlie office, with easy access to the town centre and local amenities.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the CEO, the Principal Solicitor will provide leadership across legal practice, people and organisational priorities.
* Leading and overseeing the legal practice, ensuring compliance with professional, funding and accreditation requirements
* Supervising, mentoring and supporting solicitors and legal staff
* Managing legal risk, quality assurance and professional standards
* Providing strategic oversight of complex and high-risk matters
* Contributing to organisational strategy, service development and sustainability
* Supporting trauma-informed, culturally safe and client-centred service delivery
* Working collaboratively with the CEO, leadership team, Board and external stakeholders
What You'll Have
You will be a highly capable senior solicitor with strong leadership skills and sound professional judgement.
A Current Unrestricted Practising Certificate in Western Australia is a minimum requirement, together with:
* Significant post-admission experience (community, government or private practice)
* Minimum 5 years of post-admission legal experience required
* Demonstrated experience supervising and supporting legal staff
* Strong understanding of legal risk, compliance and quality assurance
* Excellent professional judgement and ethical practice
* Commitment to social justice and working with vulnerable and diverse communities
* Strong communication and leadership capability
* Current National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
* Current WA driver's licence
* Australian work rights are required for this position
* Experience in a community, legal or not-for-profit environment is highly regarded but not essential.
Please note that this role is not suitable for graduate or junior lawyers.
