This opportunity allows you to join Rydges Canberra as a Sous Chef, working alongside our talented Executive Chef and dedicated kitchen team. You'll lead daily operations at The George Bar & Grill, a stylish atrium restaurant known for its premium dry-aged cuts, locally inspired dishes, and relaxed atmosphere.
We're looking for someone with 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef in hotels, restaurants, and an understanding of banqueting and events. A genuine passion for food and experience across all kitchen sections is essential. Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude are also required.
* Leading daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production across all hotel outlets.
* Maintaining top culinary standards, food safety, and hygiene practices at all times.
* Supervising and supporting kitchen staff, fostering a productive and collaborative team environment.
* Monitoring stock, controlling costs, and helping achieve financial targets for food and labour.
* Collaborating with F&B teams to deliver smooth service for restaurant and banquet functions.
* Staying ahead of menu trends, driving innovation, and consistently exceeding guest expectations.
