Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee critical building systems at a major healthcare facility in Coburg, Melbourne.
Reporting to the State Manager, you will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate specialist contractors, and ensure assets and systems are maintained safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is technically skilled, proactive, collaborative, and committed to delivering reliable, safe environments that support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate maintenance delivery by direct staff and specialist contractors.
* Oversee essential systems including HVAC, chilled & condenser water, electrical distribution, UPS, and generators.
* Maintain accurate asset registers, compliance documentation, and system performance records.
* Coordinate planned shutdowns, engineering testing, and emergency responses.
* Support technical troubleshooting, system audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering and maintenance teams.
Education, Experience & Skills
* Certificate III in Air-conditioning & Refrigeration, Electrotechnology Electrician, or Mechanical Trade.
* 10+ years post-qualification experience in technical or engineering roles.
* Strong knowledge of building systems in healthcare or complex environments.
* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and maintenance management systems.
* High-level communication, organisational, and collaborative skills.
* Experience managing energy performance and asset efficiency.
* Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safety compliance.
* Exposure to healthcare or critical infrastructure environments.
Workplace Flexibility
This role is on-site in Coburg, with PPE, uniform, iPad, and mobile phone provided. Ongoing in-house training will support your growth.
