The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.Underground Operator - Production DrillerReporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor you will ensure that all aspects of operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with Company and Legislative standards and procedures.These are permanent positions are offered on a 7:7 roster.Responsibilities include (however not limited to):Following shift plan instructions as directed by your supervisor, ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all timesKnowledge of underground mining practices and efficient operation of production drillsRead and accurately follow engineering design plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design taking into account depth and long hole rig experience preferred.Working collaboratively with the team to ensure production targets are met.Real time communication with Mine Control of all physical measures and delaysCompletion and submission of all required shift reports and documentation to the Shift SupervisorConducting a thorough, timely and informative end of shift handover with your cross shiftAttend and actively participate in all required site and MMG training courses and meetingsEnsure that all assigned vehicles are operated in a safe and clean condition at all timesUsing all provided equipment safety and within its design capability and purposeCarrying out effective high quality workplace inspections, ensuring correct signage (warning/hazards) are used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures.Abide by Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, visions and values, and MMG Code of Conduct.About You:Demonstrated experience in a similar role with at least 1 year of Production Drilling experienceExperience with working in production and development crews or operating in this environment with an extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques.Ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors, cross shift and other relevant departments.A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen and Background checks.A manual C Class driver's license.First aid certificate - desirable.Working at Heights Certificate - desirableUnwavering commitment to safety and proven history of safe work practisesWhat we offerAt Rosebery, our aim is to create a workplace that encourages diversity and inclusion and supports our people to grow.
