**Early Childhood Outcomes Divisio**n
The Early Childhood Outcomes Division leads the delivery of the Early Years Commitment program, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child - in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future. Key initiatives will include supporting families with young children to access the services they need to support their own prosperity and wellbeing; valuing and growing the early childhood education and care sector and investing in early childhood teachers and educators.

**About the role**
The role supports the development and implementation of the Directorate's data management, and research and analysis activities.

Key accountabilities:

- Undertake research and analysis to synthesise complex information from a range of sources to support the Directorate's priorities and the strategic management of data.
- Collaborate with other areas of the Directorate and use sophisticated technology to model the impact of reforms and policy decisions.
- Undertake quantitative data analysis of complex datasets to support the development of policy, funding models, programs, performance reporting and other Directorate priorities.
- Provide plain language advice on complex technical issues to non-technical audiences to support decision making.
- Prepare quality evidence-based written reports, submissions, and correspondence.
- Design, develop, and manage databases to capture and store multiple datasets in accordance with the Department's data management standards.
- Undertake data visualisation activities, for example building dashboards that bring together multiple data sources in Power BI.
- Review and analyse data to identify issues and to prepare proposals to improve data collection processes, accuracy, quality, and governance.
- Prepare documentation in relation to data handling and management processes
- Manage data collections to meet state and national requirements.

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience within statistics, data analysis data modelling and visualisation.
- Proficient working knowledge and experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI/Tableau embedding visualisation best practices to tell the story.
- You have experience in working with relational databases e.g. Microsoft SQL server, Oracle, or similar.
- Excellent command of programming languages such as R/Python and SQL.
- Excellent research and analytical skills and possess a continuous improvement mindset.
