Responsibilities

* ">Estimate food costs and labour requirements to optimize efficiency.
* ">Source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.
* ">Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.
* ">Discuss food preparation issues with Managers and kitchen staff.
* ">Manage Customer Relations by addressing major complaints about food.
* ">Organize food preparation and cooking efficiently.
* ">Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures.
* ">Prepare and cook food to the highest standards.
* ">Select and train kitchen staff in all areas of the kitchen and front of house.
* ">Set up the kitchen with utensils and equipment.
* ">Cook food efficiently while maintaining high standards.
* ">Delegate tasks to kitchen staff effectively.
* ">Inform wait staff about daily specials.
* ">Supervise Cooks and assist as needed.
* ">Modify recipes based on customer requests.
* ">Monitor food stock and place orders.
* ">Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items.
* ">Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.
Requirements

* ">Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or 3 years of relevant experience.
