Overview
Wagga Wagga City Council's Parks & Gardens Strategic Operations Management Team is seeking an experienced leader to provide quality service delivery systems, processes and services in the establishment and maintenance of parks, gardens, reserves, and sportsgrounds.
Responsibilities
Permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week).
Lead a team within the Parks & Reserves Operations management team to deliver high-level presentation for the City's parks, gardens, reserves, open spaces, sportsgrounds, zoo and cemeteries.
Oversee the overall operational management of the Council's open space service areas; lead, engage, mentor and develop the team; develop and implement maintenance and inspection schedules; project manage specialised maintenance and/or preparation of facilities; assist the Manager with the development and implementation of annual work programs and operational plans.
Operate and maintain items of plant as required and undertake gardening duties as needed.
Your New Role
As the Team Leader Parks Operations (Open Space), you will work collaboratively to lead the team to deliver quality presentation and maintenance across the City's parks, gardens, reserves, open spaces, sportsgrounds, zoo and cemeteries.
What You Will Need To Succeed
Qualifications relevant to the role such as a Minimum Certificate III Horticulture / Green keeping / Agriculture.
Class MR Driver's Licence.
General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP).
AQF III Chemical Application Certificate.
AQF Level 4 Chemical Risk Management Certificate.
Chainsaw Certificate Crosscut / Felling.
Substantial leadership experience with the ability to lead, engage, mentor, and develop a team and manage personnel effectively.
Strong time management, planning, financial and administrative skills; and
Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
