Head of Underwriting and Portfolio Pricing – Travel Insurance, AU & NZ Bluefin Resources is supporting a global general insurer to recruit an experienced professional to lead the underwriting and portfolio pricing activities for their travel insurance business within Australia & New Zealand and clients globally. This role focuses on ensuring technical excellence, maintaining market competitiveness, driving profitability, and supporting business growth through effective underwriting practices. You will own and manage remediation activities aligned with their Travel LoB strategy and assure compliance with guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Oversee underwriting for new and renewing deals across Australia, New Zealand, and global clients. Lead underwriting activities for large commercial accounts, including banking sector clients. Collaborate with Pricing teams to monitor portfolio performance and adjust pricing as needed. Partner with Sales teams to develop competitive offers for clients. Support remediation activities for underperforming accounts, ensuring alignment with business strategy. Ensure underwriting practices comply with internal guidelines and regulatory standards. Provide input into planning processes, including commercial margin projections. Support product rollout initiatives and drive adoption of digital tools within underwriting processes. Coordinate with actuarial teams to ensure accurate portfolio evaluation and reserve adequacy. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align capacity planning with business priorities. Qualifications & Experience: Actuarial or financial background required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in portfolio monitoring, underwriting, or related insurance fields. Experience in underwriting travel insurance product for banking sector preferred (B2B2C).
