Product Development Director, Marine Fouling Control

The Product Development Director for marine fouling control drives and coordinates project activities to achieve the technical and financial goals. You will guide communication between technical, product management, and commercial teams. You will be an important resource in working with the global and regional product management teams assessing voice of customer and market data to support our projects.
You will guide project execution. You will have knowledge of the technologies and competitive landscape and will scout external technologies/developments to expand and differentiate our fouling control portfolio. This will be a global subject matter expert role reporting to the Global Technology Director, PMC.

Key Responsibilities
* You will be the technical liaison to bring technology strategy supporting fouling control vision
* Lead collaboration efforts with the commercial, product management and technical teams to outline product portfolio consistent with fouling control technologies and capabilities
* Guide project planning and execution
* Provide expert knowledge and technical leadership to overcome project obstacles and deliver unique products OTIF.
* Ensure project requirements and product specifications are kept updated to reflect current customer requirements and regulatory standards (DFMEA).
* Collaborate with project management and commercial teams to maintain project portfolio consistent with business and market needs
* Manage PPG IP landscape in fouling control segment
* Work with project team to outline patent strategy for important innovations
* Monitor competitive landscape to assess IP strategy and effect on PPG marine business
* Participate in third-party committee(s) to stay current on regulatory requirements and influence testing protocol
Qualifications
* High level of technical understanding and leadership (MS or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent).
* Over 10 years In-depth experience of marine fouling control coatings
* Coordinate multiple complex activities in a global environment.
* Work and provide positive guidance across teams
