Experienced Farm Diesel Mechanic
Salary: $77,000 AUD + Superannuation

Harvest Workers Pty Ltd are seeking a skilled and reliable Farm Diesel Mechanic to join our agricultural operations team. This role involves maintaining, testing, and repairing diesel engines and mechanical components across a range of farm vehicles and machinery, including harvest aids, boom equipment, tractors, and forklifts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diesel systems, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced farming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Detect and diagnose faults in diesel engines and mechanical systems
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair
Repair or replace worn and defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, and consult service manuals as needed
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations
Reassemble engines and components following repairs, ensuring all systems are properly aligned and functioning
Test and adjust mechanical parts post-repair to verify performance and reliability
Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to identify issues and verify repairs
Inspect vehicles and machinery for roadworthiness and issue certificates or provide detailed reports on required repairs
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in an agricultural or heavy machinery setting
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based testing tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with farm machinery including harvest aids, booms, tractors, and forklifts
Experience working in rural or agricultural environments
Understanding of safety standards and environmental compliance related to diesel engines
