About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Underground Electrical Maintenance team. This is a unique opportunity to provide front-line support and ensure all electrical works are carried out safely, timely, cost-effectively, and environmentally responsibly.
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for doing repairs, maintenance, and installation activities on infrastructure such as motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMUs, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting, and other electrical systems. You will also conduct scheduled statutory requirements work safely and efficiently. Additionally, you will install and maintain underground reticulation systems, ensuring reliable power distribution. Furthermore, you will conduct breakdown and maintenance tasks on underground drilling equipment to minimize downtime. Your role will involve studying plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations. Availability after hours on a 'Call Out' roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdown is also required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (Essential)
* Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs, and Automation experience (Desirable)
• Data cabler's license advantageous
* Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential)
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience preferred• Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000, and other relevant Australian Standards.• Current High Voltage Switching certificate – however, assistance can be provided• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP• WA 'C' Class manual driver's license• Senior First Aid• Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory)
