Experienced casual medical receptionist required for busy private practice.
Start date: Late May 2026, with paid training provided prior to commencement.
Currently offering one full day of work per week on Monday from 8:15am to 5pm. This position is initially offered as maternity leave cover, with the possibility of ongoing employment depending on practice needs. A standard probationary period will apply. Supportive team environment with orientation to practice systems provided. On-site parking provided.
Key responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and managing front desk enquiries
- Scheduling appointments and managing clinician diaries via Zanda practice management software
- Managing incoming calls and correspondence via post, fax and email
- Processing patient payments and issuing receipts
- Managing Medicare and DVA billing and processing
- Reconciling daily receipts and EFTPOS transactions
- Maintaining accurate patient records and practice documentation
- Typing medical letters and medico-legal reports
About you:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in medical administration will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Professional, calm and reliable manner
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Typing speed 60wpm+ preferred, as a large portion of the role revolves around medical letter and report typing
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
