The Role
As a Ecology Operations Manager, you will lead the operational delivery of ecological projects across Queensland & Northern NSW post-award. You will be responsible for safety, quality, program and financial performance across a diverse project portfolio.
This is a senior leadership position where you will directly manage and mentor Project Managers, provide oversight across site teams, and act as the escalation point for complex delivery, resourcing and client matters. You will work closely with the Business Manager to protect margin, strengthen forecasting and drive operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead operational delivery of ecology projects across QLD& Northern NSW
* Manage and mentor Project Managers
* Oversee safety, quality, program and financial outcomes
* Act as escalation point for delivery and client matters
* Drive project margin, cost control and productivity
* Partner with Business Manager on forecasting and reporting
* Provide input into tenders, pricing and mobilisation
* Ensure consistent delivery systems and standards
Key Focus Areas
* Safety leadership and environmental compliance
* Margin protection and cost control
* Leadership development of PMs
* Client satisfaction and contract retention
* Continuous improvement in operational systems
About You
* Senior operations or delivery leadership experience
* Environmental, ecology or land management background preferred
* Experience managing multiple Project Managers
* Strong commercial acumen with hands-on margin management
* Solid understanding of WHS and environmental regulations
* Confident, practical leader who operates autonomously
* Proven ability to build high-performing teams
