If so, we invite you to explore an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Process Control Engineer, where your contributions will play a key role in shaping the future of our operations.
You will model safety behaviours and coach and develop your team, working with your team to assess and manage risk.
NPL operates in a complex environment that requires the successful applicant to be a self-starter, with strong ability in delivery to support the mines successful operation whilst coordinating the efforts of your team members to complete projects according to plan in a timely and protected manner.
About you
You will play a crucial role in the programming and maintenance of process control and automation systems.
Your responsibilities will include implementing and supporting site-wide and corporate systems, monitoring maintenance systems, assisting in change management initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and driving continuous improvement targets.
The role involves designing, installing, maintaining, and configuring site automation systems across both surface and underground operations.
You will lead and contribute to projects aimed at upgrading existing automation systems while continuously monitoring maintenance systems and performance metrics to identify and implement improvements.
Close collaboration with the Process Control Superintendent is essential for change management and business improvement initiatives.
A strong focus on safety is required, including the development and maintenance of safe work procedures to ensure high standards of health and safety awareness.
The position also entails driving team efficiency, ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards, setting continuous improvement targets, and maintaining up-to-date job procedures.
The ideal candidate will hold recognized tertiary qualifications in Instrumentation or Control Systems Engineering and bring extensive experience in leading teams in process control systems programming and maintenance, particularly within underground infrastructure.
Proficiency in PLC and SCADA configuration, maintenance, and repair is essential.
You will demonstrate a One Team approach, providing effective leadership and development for your local team to reinforce NPL's culture and values, always promoting a safe work workplace.
The position requires a high energy individual, hands-on management style and desire to continuously improve you and your team's knowledge and systems and methods of work.
