Our team is comprised of professionals dedicated to helping individuals manage complex financial matters, including budgets, entitlements, and payments—while building relationships with clients and their support networks to ensure decisions align with their needs, wishes, and wellbeing.


About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Community Finance Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work closely with clients under VCAT appointment who require targeted financial support. Your responsibilities will include administering day-to-day financial affairs, building budgets, overseeing payments, managing property and entitlements, and liaising with clients, families, advocates and support services to determine client needs and preferences.


Key Responsibilities

* Administer day-to-day financial affairs for clients who cannot manage them independently
* Build budgets, oversee payments, manage property and entitlements
* Liaise with clients, families, advocates and support services to determine client needs and preferences
* Support clients to access benefits, services, and entitlements such as NDIS or trust income
* Prepare reports, recommendations and legal correspondence when required
* Work cross-functionally with internal experts (legal, tax, financial planning)


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

* Experience working in the disability, mental health or human service sector'
* Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets or financial decisions
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Empathy, active listening, and the ability to have difficult conversations
* A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals
* Experience with complex client cases or financial oversight
* Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant legislation (e.g., Guardianship and Administration Act)
