Port Operations Support Officer – Darwin
Position Overview: This newly created role supports all vessel operators, operational activities, and management functions within the Port of Darwin. The role provides broad operational and administrative support across multiple areas of the business, ensuring efficient coordination between vessel operations, stakeholders, port activities, and management requirements. Working closely with operators and management, you will assist with daily operations, project and task coordination, communication, compliance, and overall operational efficiency.
A Day in the Life
* Support daily port and agency operations through office administration, documentation handling, and system data entry to ensure smooth workflow processes.
* Assist operations teams in preparing and maintaining vessel line‐up updates, vessel setup, cargo documentation, and customs‐related entries, ensuring records are accurate, compliant, and timely.
* Handle vessel booking and clearance processes, routine documentation execution, signing, and coordination of logistics such as crew and technical personnel travel, accommodation, and transport arrangements.
* Provide general administrative support duties, including routine banking, postal and courier services, and broader day‐to‐day operational coordination activities.
* Work with agency and operations teams to process and verify invoices, maintain accurate records across internal systems such as WASP and MARS, and support daily operational reporting requirements. Ensure data integrity, timely system updates, and alignment of operational activities with financial documentation.
* Occasional out‐of‐hours work may be required depending on operational and vessel scheduling requirements.

* Must possess a valid Australian work permit, driver's licence, and eligibility for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
