About the Role:
As the Leading Hand, you will provide day-to-day supervision, technical guidance, and coordination within the component rebuild workshop while remaining actively involved in maintenance activities.
You will be responsible for ensuring quality workmanship, safe work practices, and efficient job completion across all component overhaul and repair tasks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading and supporting a team of maintenance technicians and component fitters
* Coordinating workshop workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines
* Carrying out component change-outs, overhauls, diagnostics, inspections, and general repairs
* Dismantling, rebuilding, testing, and returning components to full serviceability
* Ensuring all work complies with OEM specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and site procedures
* Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
* Promoting a strong safety culture and maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
* Assisting with technical troubleshooting and mentoring team members
Roster: Monday to Friday – 10-hour days, with optional overtime available.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will be a trade-qualified and experienced component rebuild professional with demonstrated leadership capability.
You will bring:
* Proven experience in heavy equipment maintenance or component rebuild roles
* Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Fitter, or informal team leader (highly regarded)
* Strong knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment and internal engine/component systems
* Solid experience using CAT ET and SIS diagnostic systems
* Advanced fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* The ability to prioritise tasks, coordinate workloads, and meet tight deadlines
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
* A safety-first mindset and commitment to quality workmanship
