BDS Mechanical Repairs offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to join our large, privately owned business. This role involves managing an established workshop in Normanton or Cloncurry with a hands-on and proactive approach.
You will oversee workshop operations, parts, contracts, and staff, requiring strong financial, customer relationship, leadership, and team-building skills to foster success, profitability, and sustainability.
About Us
We are a growing business providing mechanical, auto electrical, and welding repairs across Queensland with 22 workshop locations and over 160 field service units covering more than 600,000 km2.
About You
Management experience essential
Trade qualification as Diesel fitter, Diesel mechanic, or LV Mechanic preferred but not essential
Experience in automotive workshops advantageous
Strong communication and people management skills
Proven leadership in team success
Effective business management skills
Commitment to continuous improvement and WH&S
Proficiency in computer skills
Ability to drive growth and develop new opportunities
Maintain positive customer relationships
The Position
Manage daily workshop operations
Handle internal and external client interactions
Willing to be hands-on and on the tools
Plan jobs, liaise with customers, and manage job cards
Track jobs and report
Manage staff performance
Estimate and quote jobs
Ensure quality control and safety compliance
