About The Service & Team
This role sits within the Medical Administration workforce of Belmont Hospital, Hunter New England Local Health District, supporting Junior Medical Officers across our facility. The team culture is collaborative, professional, and supportive. You'll be joining a group that values accuracy, clear communication, shared problem-solving, and mutual respect. We understand the pressures of medical workforce coordination and work together to support each other through busy periods, roster changes, and competing priorities.
About The Role
As a JMO Coordinator, you play a critical behind‐the‐scenes role in keeping medical services running smoothly. Your work directly supports doctors on the floor and contributes to patient safety and service continuity.
A Typical Day May Include
* Coordinating and maintaining JMO rosters for allocated specialties or services
* Accurately entering shifts and changes into HealthRoster
* Liaising with the Locum Management Unit to arrange locum cover when required
* Coordinating travel and accommodation for locums and visiting medical staff
* Responding to enquiries from JMOs, senior medical staff, and internal stakeholders
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with awards, policies and procedures
Outside of the PD, this role requires adaptability and sound judgement. You'll often be balancing competing priorities, responding to last‐minute changes, and finding practical solutions in a fast‐paced environment.
About You

* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
* Clear, professional communication skills
* A collaborative, team‐focused approach
* Willingness to learn and adapt to medical workforce systems and processes
Experience in medical administration or rostering is highly regarded, but not essential. What matters most is your reliability, problem‐solving mindset, and commitment to supporting clinical services.
Support, Training & Development
You won't be expected to know everything on day one. You'll receive:
* Structured onboarding and buddy training
* Hands‐on, on‐the‐job training with experienced team members
* Ongoing support from senior administration staff and managers
* Access to My Health Learning and other professional development opportunities
We're committed to helping you grow your skills and confidence in medical administration and workforce coordination.
