About the role
The Finance and Procurement Directorate plays a key role in the achievement of the Department’s Strategic objectives by providing strategic financial advice and related finance services. This includes ensuring adequate funding is acquired, financial accounting and management of resources undertaken, compliance with legislative and other governance requirements is maintained, financial systems are developed and applied, and that transaction services are maintained and improved.
With a service delivery mindset, the Finance and Procurement Directorate continues to innovate and improve ways of working to meet stakeholder requirements. To maximise engagement with the Department’s other business areas and to successfully deliver the responsibilities, the Director is structured around five branches: Budgeting and Strategy, Management Accounting, Financial Governance, Financial Services and Procurement.
This position is pivotal in assisting and supporting the delivery of effective customer focused services while providing leadership and promoting responsibility for accountable financial management.
This position is in the Budgeting and Strategy branch. As a valued team member, you will be self-motivated, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and maintain a high attention to detail. You will have financial management experience, an appetite to improve ways of working, a customer centric approach and take a collaborative approach in dealing with non-finance staff and other stakeholders.

- To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
