Cancer Care Coordinator Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 – Cancer Care Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting patients through every stage of their cancer journey.
In this position, you will coordinate timely, holistic, and person-centred care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients and their families feel supported, informed, and empowered.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist provides person-centred specialist nursing care at an advanced practice level for the designated specialty in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provides clinical leadership, support, and supervision for less experienced clinicians to achieve people-focused quality care.
* Coordinates timely, holistic, and person-centred care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
* Uses best practice evidence to provide person-centred specialist nursing care at an advanced practice level.
* Supervises, delegates, and negotiates with others to deliver quality nursing care.
* Evidence of participation in own professional development, a commitment to maintaining competence, and enhancement of skills in Cancer Care.
Selection Criteria:
* Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
* Relevant post-registration qualifications in Oncology or Haematology with a minimum of three years' experience working in the clinical specialty.
* Demonstrated competencies in and knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in providing specialty Oncology or Haematology nursing care in the context of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to exercise extended autonomy in clinical decision-making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing specialty practice advancement.
* Effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written, and verbal means and sound interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner.
