At Simplot, we're looking for an Apprentice Maintenance Electrician to join our highly skilled team. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to learn a skilled maintenance trade and work with a unique range of equipment in modern food production facilities.
As part of our 2026 apprenticeship programme, you'll have the opportunity to develop a diverse skill set in the industrial electrical industry. You'll be working on a Monday-Friday day shift roster, focusing on all facets of the electrotechnology trade within a busy manufacturing (FMCG) environment.
The role involves taking part in safety initiatives, learning industry best practice for preventative maintenance and breakdown of electrical equipment and systems, problem solving and fault finding, and interacting with the wider Maintenance/Engineering and Production teams.
You'll also have the opportunity to attend mandatory blocks of TAFE for the duration of the apprenticeship and contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have successfully completed or be due to complete school-based electrotechnology units, possess a genuine interest in learning the electrical trade, and basic knowledge of electrical industry terminology.
You'll need to demonstrate problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach, possess strong mathematical and English attributes, and intermediate IT skills with regards to Windows-based operating systems.
Additionally, you'll need to be an Australian citizen or possess formal permanent residency, able to commence full-time employment in December 2025/January 2026, and hold a driver's license or Learner's Permit with a view to obtaining P-plates in the near future.
