About the role
Reporting directly to the Cogen Superintendent, the Cogen Analyst is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of laboratory equipment and machinery to provide analytical support to the Cogen team, whilst maintaining quality at a higher than minimum standard. You will be a key member of the production team, self-motivated and committed to achieving targets in relation to safety, quality, and productivity. This position is a Crushing Season Full Time position, however, may have opportunity to lead into a Permanent Position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities of the Cogen Analyst include.
* Daily sampling and analysis of a number of process samples to monitor critical boiler operating parameters
* Monitoring of chemical dosing performance, and troubleshooting equipment issues with maintenance personnel
* Miscellaneous support tasks for the Racecourse lab including additional sample preparation and analysis
* Administrative tasks including chemical stock management, production data entry, maintenance request input
* General support for the laboratory coordinator.
As a minimum you will:
* Previous sugar industry experience preferred.
* Secondary School Certificate – Year 12 with successful completion of Math's, English and Science, with chemistry an advantage (but, not essential)
* Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Laboratory Skills
* Have previous Laboratory experience (advantageous)
* Be able to work safely and efficiently within a team environment.
