The Role: Compounding Technician – Pharmaceutical
We are looking for a great team player, positive attitude, flexible and adaptable team member who will welcome coaching and feedback and always look for ways to further develop themselves and the service we offer. This role is available in our Old Toongabbie facility in a full‐time permanent position covering shifts from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required.
In this role you will be responsible for the aseptic production process – manufacturing chemotherapy, antibiotics and nutritional products for our hospitals and patients. You will prepare and compound sterile medications and solutions according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy, safety and quality. Candidates who wish to start a career in pharmaceuticals are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Picking and preparing raw materials
* Aseptically compounding (mixing) sterile solutions
* Packing of finished units for each order including final inspection of products
* Labelling and dispatching of prepared products
* Ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
* Adhering to Baxter's Standard Operating Procedures
* Performing other duties as required
Essential skills & qualifications
* Enjoy work that requires a high attention to detail
* Willingness to learn new skills
* Adapting to shift work schedules as needed
* Providing assistance in environments with defined procedures and protocols
* Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
* Comfortable working within a cleanroom environment for most of the day
* Executing repetitive tasks in a consistent and accurate manner
* Understanding of basic mathematics
* Effective communication, both verbally and in writing
* Experience in pharmacy, manufacturing or warehousing is an advantage
* Manual repetitive handling and dexterity required
* Previous manual compounding experience highly regarded
This role is subject to a pre‐employment medical including stringent vision screening (GMP requirement), background and reference checks.
