Branch Manager | Newcastle General Construction
About the Role
Due to an internal promotion, WesTrac is seeking an experienced leader to take on the role of Branch Manager for WesTrac's Newcastle General Construction (GCON) operation.
As one of the 6 branches that is located at our Tomago Head Office Site, GCON services civil and construction customers in the Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Central Coast region. The successful candidate will lead 6 direct reports and an approximate team size of 40 comprised of administration, customer support and trades roles across workshop & field service.
Reporting to the Regional Manager - Central Operations, you will be accountable for the overall safety, financial and operational performance of the Branch. Your role will place a focus on building and maintaining strong customer relationships whilst encouraging continuous improvement of all areas.
Based at Tomago, this role will require occasional travel to customer sites between Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee branch operations
* Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained through engaging in a safe, productive and customer-focused culture
* Control profits & losses and monitor monthly sales and service targets
* Meet organisational goals through development of branch strategies
* Provide leadership, direction and support to your team, utilising a values-driven approach
* Utilise data to forecast, measure and improve branch performance
* Be the point of escalation for customer queries
* Build and maintain successful customer relationships through effective stakeholder engagement and regular customer visits
* Oversee invoicing, Work in Progress (WIP) and warranty claims
* Oversee the development of team members to deliver high engagement and productivity
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure statewide customer coverage by sharing resources
* Encourage continuous improvement opportunities within the business to ensure effective and efficient operation
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Business and/or mechanical trade background desirable
* Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity
* Experience with Caterpillar (or similar) equipment and exposure to mobile equipment industry
* Highly developed commercial acumen with proven ability to manage customer relationships, budgets, data analysis and report compilation
* Experience in an operational role with proven ability to boost performance
* Ability to present in a professional manner with outstanding communication skills
* Ability to lead high performing teams in changing environments
