Job Title: Specialist Harvest Systems Operator
Position Type: Temporary/Seasonal Specialist Harvest Operations
Hourly Rate: AUD $47.00 per hour plus applicable superannuation and agreed seasonal arrangements.
Job Closes Date: 30 Days
About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Specialist Harvest System Operator for the 2026 harvest season. This is a temporary, non-ongoing role requiring advanced expertise in managing and leading a high-capacity harvest system involving three John Deere X9 combine harvesters and integrated chaser bin logistics. You will coordinate harvesting activities within a fast-paced grain handling and transport environment, ensuring maximum throughput during the critical Western Australian harvest period. The role is classed as specialist due to the scale of equipment, the need for real-time coordination, and the limited local availability of such skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Operate and oversee three John Deere X9 combines, optimizing performance for high-volume broadacre harvesting under time-sensitive conditions.
* Coordinate chaser bin logistics to maintain continuous grain flow between harvesters, field bins, and transport trucks, minimizing downtime.
* Supervise and direct harvest personnel and machinery workflow, adjusting plans in response to crop conditions, weather, and equipment status.
* Monitor grain quality and moisture levels, making operational decisions to preserve yield and meet client specifications.
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient maintenance practices across all harvesting and grain handling equipment.
Benefits Provided by Employer
* Fully maintained work vehicle for the employment period
* Accommodation and meals provided during harvest operations
Requirements & Experience
* Proven expertise operating large-scale, high-capacity harvesting systems (John Deere X9 or equivalent preferred).
* Experience coordinating harvest logistics, including chaser bin and transport scheduling, in a broadacre setting.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a small team and manage real-time workflow adjustments.
* Strong mechanical aptitude for on-the-go troubleshooting and minor repairs.
* Availability for the full 2026 harvest season (WA region).
