Offer description

Overview

About the Ngaanyatjarra Council Welcome to Ngaanyatjarra Lands, a vibrant tapestry of culture and community nestled within the vast beauty of the Australian desert. Home to approximately 1800 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.

Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NCG) represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.

Our Vision: Representing the aspirations and interests of our diverse communities, we are dedicated to keeping Yarnangu strong on Country.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated FIFO-Warehouse Officer to join our team out in Warburton, our largest community in Ngaanyatjarra Lands, to support housing and construction projects across remote communities. This hands-on role is all about making sure materials are where they need to be — from stock control and reporting to picking, packing, and delivering supplies to site.

You’ll work closely with our procurement team, project administrators, and contractors to keep projects moving, whether it’s emergency repairs, maintenance, or major construction. This position is offered on a FIFO 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster, giving you a great balance between work and time at home.

If you’re organised, reliable, and enjoy a role that combines warehouse operations with time out on the road, this is a great chance to contribute to meaningful community projects while building your FIFO career.

Responsibilities

- Manage stock control, reporting, picking, packing, and delivering supplies to site.
- Collaborate with procurement, project administrators, and contractors to support housing and construction projects.
- Assist with emergency repairs, maintenance, and major construction activities as required.

About You

You’ll bring a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. While previous warehousing or remote community experience would be an advantage, it’s not essential — what matters most is your willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to the team.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

- A High Risk Forklift Licence (essential)
- First Aid certification
- A Certificate in Warehousing (desirable, but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office Suite and iOS devices

What We Offer

- Purpose-Driven Environment: Experience a work culture that prioritises purpose and provides a deep sense of fulfilment, aligning with values that matter to you.
- Flights and Accommodation: Flights and accommodation will be provided to support a seamless transition into your new role.
- Competitive Salary + Remote Allowance + Salary Sacrificing + 17.5% Annual Leave Loading : Enjoy a competitive salary package complemented by NGO salary sacrificing options.
- Meaningful Work: Contribute to impactful projects and be part of a non-profit organisation where your work truly makes a difference.
- Join us in preserving our traditions, sharing our stories, and shaping a vibrant future for generations to come.
- We encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds.

Equal Prospect

We welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
