RM Watson is a specialist remedial construction company operating across Greater Sydney and now expanding into the Illawarra region. As part of this strategic growth, we are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team based in Wollongong. RM Watson delivers over 20 projects concurrently, each varying in size and complexity. Headquartered in Annandale, our team comprises approximately 90 office and site-based professionals.
About the Role
The Project Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of remedial construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating technical aspects of works, assisting with planning and procurement, tracking programme milestones, and ensuring construction activities are executed in line with engineering specifications and compliance requirements.
The Project Engineer works closely with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve technical challenges, maintain accurate project documentation, and uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards. Operating in live, occupied, or sensitive environments, the role supports efficient and effective project execution while minimising disruption to clients and stakeholders
What you will bring to the role
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
* Specialist experience in project engineering and working knowledge of project management
* Strong working knowledge of building codes, remedial construction methods, and industry standards
* Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines
* Demonstrated experience in effective supervision, monitoring of sub-contractors and other trades.
* Demonstrated experience in a Contracts Administrator, Project Administrator/Coordinator role
* Previous experience in the construction industry
* Demonstrated experience in providing technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
* Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
* Demonstrated ability to build solid relationships with the team and client.
* Proactive team player with the ability to work independently.
* Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
* High level of organisation with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Solid computer literacy, including proficiency in Office 365 suite (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel
* Must hold a current driver's license
* Must hold a current White Card (Construction Induction Card)
Desirable
* Experience with SignOnSite
* Demonstrated experience using Procore or similar
* Remedial experience highly advantageous
