Exciting opportunities exists for Grade 2 Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic and supportive Occupational Therapy team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group on a casual basis (weekday/weekend), permanent part-time (32 hours per fortnight) or fixed term part-time basis (48 hours per fortnight, 12-month fixed term position).
Our team is comprised of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants located in a purpose-built Allied Health Building / Community Rehabilitation Centre.
The Occupational Therapy Department provides services to the Emergency Department/Short Stay Unit, Acute Inpatient Units, Community Rehabilitation Service, Subacute (GEM and TCP) and Aged Care residential facilities.
Our department encourages and supports professional development and supervision and support are available to the successful applicant.
Casuals are employed on an ‘as needs’ basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours.
Our preferred candidates will hold:
* Degree / Masters in Occupational Therapy.
* Current valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy Board.
* Membership of the Australian Occupational Therapy Association or equivalent.
* Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
* A high level of theoretical and practical clinical knowledge in a wide area of Occupational Therapy practice.
* Excellent communication (both verbal & written) skills.
* The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Acute hospital experience
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
