The Opportunity
In alignment with National Pharmacies' strategic priorities, we are embarking on an exciting phase of transformation. As we continue to deliver meaningful outcomes for our members, the communities we serve, and our dedicated team, we are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team as Optometrist at our Victor Harbor Optical Store. This position is targeted towards a patient-orientated individual who will support the Optical Manager in the operations of the optical store. The role requires strong and professional leadership, commercial thinking and a genuine passion to deliver exceptional eye health care.
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Provide friendly professional service to all National Pharmacies customers.
* Conduct vision exams using knowledge of various vision testing equipment.
* Analise results of vision tests to diagnose common eye conditions and determine the most suitable treatment.
* Educate customers and patients on general eye health best practices.
* Maintain Medicare, DVA and any other relationships required for the effective provision of Optometry services.
* Carry out clerical duties to a high standard including ordering of stock, filling, letter creation, data entry, Hi-Caps entry and appointment management.
* Maintain consulting rooms and work areas to achieve the greatest efficiency and convey a professional image of our practice.
* Participate in identified training programs to develop your skill set.
* Protect the confidentiality of customer and pricing information, financial records and marketing strategies of National Pharmacies.
Ideal Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
* Provide Eyewear and Eyecare solutions for every patient as an Optometrist
* Effective decision-making, problem-solving skills and initiative
* Solid interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people
* Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team
* Demonstrated ability to present and act in a professional manner
* Ability to effectively handle confidential/sensitive information, issues, or situations.
You will also require the following qualifications and experience:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Optometrist
* APHRA Registration as an Optometrist
Roster requirements:Tuesday - Saturday wk 1, Monday - Saturday (half day) wk 2.
