Senior Machinist Technician - 2nd Shift

About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Machinist Technician to join their team in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will apply your mechanical aptitude to shape and cut metal components with precision, working from engineering drawings and process sheets. You will operate a variety of machining equipment while ensuring all work meets strict quality and tolerance standards. Key Responsibilities
* Perform production machining tasks by cutting and shaping metal to precision dimensions
* Operate lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating and profile machines, brakes, and shears
* Use light-duty bench or floor machine tools such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills, punch presses, and saws
* Work from basic drawings, process sheets, and sketches to complete tasks accurately
* Set up machines, perform adjustments, and conduct routine maintenance
* Check work using gauges, jigs, and fixtures to measure close tolerances
* Monitor and verify quality using control procedures such as statistical process control
* Collaborate with team members, employees, and managers within the department
Required Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Technical certificate or at least 1 year of related experience
* U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
* Ability to read and follow engineering and CAD drawings
* General computer, organizational, and communication skills
* Proficiency in using mechanical hand and basic power tools
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with precision machining in a production environment
* Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
* Ability to work independently under general supervision while following detailed instructions for new tasks
* Commitment to quality assurance and continuous learning
