About the role
This role is located at The McKellar Mental Health & Wellbeing Centre (MH&WBC), a modern, purpose-built acute inpatient mental health facility located within Barwon Health's McKellar Centre precinct. The service provides high-quality, recovery-oriented care for adults experiencing acute mental health challenges, with a strong focus on safety, engagement, and collaborative treatment planning. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with consumers, families, carers, and community supports to promote stabilisation, wellbeing, and transition back to the community.
Your primary responsibility is to provide high quality, best practice direct delivery of psychiatric treatment and care to consumers (50+) as part of a multidisciplinary team which operates within a holistic recovery-based model.
As a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and NUM to deliver safe, high-quality mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering best-practice psychiatric nursing care to consumers in an acute inpatient setting
* Supporting a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed model of care
* Contributing to multidisciplinary care planning and clinical reviews
* Administering medications in line with endorsement and clinical governance frameworks
* Demonstrating culturally safe and person-centred care, respecting individual values, beliefs, and backgrounds
* Supporting consumer engagement, safety, and therapeutic outcomes
What We Are Looking For
You are a motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse with a genuine interest in mental health and recovery-focused care. You value working as part of a multidisciplinary team and are committed to delivering safe, respectful, and person-centred care.
You bring strong communication skills, a willingness to grow your clinical capability, and an understanding of working within a structured mental health setting. You will hold AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse with medication endorsement.
