Senior Electrician – Solar & Battery Systems

As we grow, we're investing in strengthening our team with a full-time, experienced Solar & Battery Electrician to support new and ongoing projects — this role is about expanding our delivery capability, not replacing existing staff.
About the Role This role involves the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across residential, SME commercial, and industrial applications. You will be joining a supportive team of electricians, engineers, and tradespeople who work collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes and innovative energy solutions. You'll contribute to a diverse portfolio, including the successful execution of multiple 1 MWh-class BESS systems used in grid-connected and off-grid environments.
Teamwork is essential. You will work closely with other Powertech Energy electricians, apprentices, subcontractors, project managers, and site supervisors to ensure efficient and quality installations, and to uphold our strong reputation for safety, ethics, and customer-focus.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and maintain solar PV and battery systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
* Deliver hybrid and BESS solutions for on-grid and standalone power applications.
* Collaborate with other electricians and trade teams on installation planning and delivery.
* Conduct site assessments, design input, and safety compliance checks.
* Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support to engineering partners.
* Coordinate apprentices and external subcontractors when required.
* Prepare installation records and handover documentation for clients and compliance.
Skills and Experience
* SA A-Grade Electrical Licence (required).
* Clean Energy Council (CEC) Design & Install Accreditation (solar + battery) (required).
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in residential, commercial, and industrial solar & battery installations.
* Proven experience with commercial BESS or off-grid hybrid power systems.
* Working at Heights and White Card certifications.
* Current Manual Driver's Licence.
* Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or unrestricted work rights.
