Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing forest management plans that prioritize sustainability and environmental protection.
* Coordinating with field teams to ensure effective delivery of forest management activities.
* Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff members.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
* Relevant qualifications in forestry, natural resource management or a related field.
* Proven experience in leading field work delivery teams and natural resource management.
* Ability to achieve accreditation and maintain competencies in Crew Leader/Operations Officer Level 1.
* Current manual Drivers License with conditions A acceptable for employment.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection of Victoria's stunning landscapes and communities while earning a competitive salary ranging from $66,265 to $74,200 per annum, plus superannuation.
Successful applicants will be required to complete the DEECA General Firefighter accreditation and hold corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period. Only Australian/New Zealand citizens or Australian Permanent Residents are eligible for ongoing positions.
