Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Casual Parish Administrative Assistant to support the day‑to‑day operations of the Parish Office. The role is the first point of contact for callers and visitors and involves a broad range of administrative, records, finance, and website support duties.
Position Description
* Provide clerical and administrative support to Parish Priest(s) and the parish team.
* Welcome and assist all visitors and callers at the parish office.
* Coordinate and implement office procedures.
* Maintain the Parish Database and sacramental records.
* Manage content for the Parish website.
* Adhere to Work Health & Safety guidelines and the Code of Conduct at all times.
Experience / Criteria
* Strong commitment to the Church's values and practices.
* Accurate and proficient performance of a wide range of administrative tasks.
* Excellent organisational, problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
* Pastoral attitude and ability to develop sound working relationships with parish workers, volunteers and local schools.
* Capacity to coordinate and oversee Parish events or ministries.
* Initiative and capacity to work effectively with minimum supervision.
* Confidentiality and discernment when handling sensitive information.
* Computer competence in Microsoft Office Applications and Parish Data Systems (willingness to learn).
* Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) is desirable.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Office Administration or relevant administrative experience.
* Current Working With Children Check for paid employment.
* Class C Driver's Licence (preferred).
