The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for the effective coordination of all mining‐related geotechnical issues within Granny Smith Underground to achieve budgeted production and meet all quality standards, including cost, safety, and environmental.
This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off.

What You'll Do
* Help coordinate and supervise geotechnical functions across underground assets.
* Communicate the geotechnical aspects to the workforce, technical team, and management.
* Develop and maintain an understanding of excavation design, planning, geological and operational issues to identify and communicate potential opportunities and concerns.
* Conduct and partake in medium‐term projects as required by the mine to ensure mine‐wide stability.
* Collection and analysis of geotechnical data including effective recognition, investigation, and analysis of rockfall events and ground control issues.
* Ability to cover the daily production tasks relating to geotechnical engineering
* Contribute to mine plans and designs to ensure maximum ore recovery with continued compliance with ground management plans.
* Update and maintain the Ground Control Management Plant, Seismic Hazard Management Plan and Paste Fill Management Plant
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geology with Post Graduate qualifications in Geomechanics, Masters in Geotechnical Engineering (Desirable)
* Demonstrated extensive experience in underground hard rock mining and familiar with open pit mining
* Frontline Management Training, including leadership experience, would be desirable.
* Driver's license (manual)
* Have or be able to attain AusIMM Chartered Professional Accreditation (Mining Geomechanics).
* A growth mindset, with strong communication, responsibility, and relationship‐building skills.
