About the role
Bathurst Regional Council is seeking enthusiastic Casual Technicians to join the team at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC). In this versatile role, you’ll help bring performances to life by setting up staging, lighting, sound, and AV equipment; supporting rehearsals and shows; and ensuring every event runs smoothly and safely. You’ll work closely with artists, presenters, and the BMEC crew to deliver outstanding experiences for audiences and performers alike. We’re looking for reliable team players who are practical, adaptable, and quick to learn. Responsibilities
- Set up staging, lighting, sound, and AV equipment for performances and events
- Support rehearsals and shows
- Ensure events run smoothly and safely
- Collaborate with artists, presenters, and the BMEC crew to deliver high-quality experiences
Qualifications / Key Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for technical work in the entertainment industry
- Work well in a team environment
- Preparedness to undertake repetitive physical labour in the set up and break down of events
- Preparedness to undertake basic hospitality duties
- A pleasant, courteous manner and neat appearance
- Ability to work flexible hours across day and evening shifts

This position requires a pre-employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.
Salary: $35.37 per hour + super + weekend penalty rates if applicable
Position Status: Casual
