The Role
Reporting to the Asset Systems and Planning and based in Windsor, the primary purpose of the positionis to coordinate, manage and lead the day to day operations of the Transport and Stormwater Team and to be the representative of Council's transport - road, footpath, shared path and bridge - and stormwater, including flood mitigation and assets. Collaborate with the Operations to ensure the flow of asset information is complete and continuous and that maintenance and inspection activities align with the long-term management strategies and plans in place.
About You
You have demonstrated experience as a practising engineer, along with extensive practical experience in Maintenance and Construction techniques in respect of roads and associated facilities. You will have strong leadership capabilities, effective communication skills both verbal and written.Experience working in local government with sound knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Professional Engineer's Registration, or eligibility to obtain
Work Cover WHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (white card)
Class C Drivers Licence
Demonstrated experience as a practising engineer
Extensive practical experience in Maintenance and Construction techniques in respect of roads and associated facilities
Tender and Contract Documentation
Knowledge of Local Government procedures/pertinent legislation
Computer literacy
Experience in managing SMEC Pavement Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems
Experience in managing Council's Asset Management System
The right to live and work in Australia
WHS General Construction Work in NSW
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
