Yindjibarndi Nation Limited (YNL) is seeking a dynamic and skilled leader to join our team as Manager, Community & External Affairs.
Based in the heart of the Pilbara, this role is integral to fostering strong relationships within the Yindjibarndi community and across a diverse range of external and internal stakeholders within the Yindjibarndi Group.
You will drive the development and delivery of high-quality communication strategies, ensuring the voices of the Yindjibarndi people are effectively heard and represented across multiple platforms.
This is a hands-on role for a talented communicator with a passion for community engagement and a deep respect for cultural values.
You'll be at the forefront of storytelling, ensuring that the Yindjibarndi community's aspirations and needs are communicated powerfully, clearly, and respectfully.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead a comprehensive community and external affairs strategy that reflects the values, aspirations, and priorities of the Yindjibarndi people.
Create, write, and edit engaging content that showcases the Yindjibarndi community's stories, updates, and progress.
This includes newsletters, editorials, social media, and other communications materials.
Coordinate and lead storytelling initiatives that highlight key community projects, milestones, and success stories, ensuring culturally appropriate and respectful representation.
Maintain direct engagement with the Yindjibarndi community, listening to and understanding their needs, ensuring their voices are integrated into strategic decisions and initiatives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders across the community, cultural, and commercial sectors, ensuring alignment and collaboration on shared goals.
Lead the development of communication and branding plans that reflect both community-driven priorities and the strategic goals of YNL.
Support and enhance reporting editorials, ensuring the YNL team and key partners are well-informed and equipped to deliver on community-facing programs and initiatives.
About You
You are an exceptional communicator with a deep commitment to engaging with and representing Traditional Owner communities.
Your skills in writing, editing, and storytelling are complemented by your ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse stakeholders.
You bring a collaborative, proactive approach to community engagement, with a strong focus on maintaining cultural integrity and building trust.
Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments across cultural, community, and commercial sectors will ensure you can develop and implement communications strategies that foster positive outcomes for the Yindjibarndi people.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or in regional settings is essential.
