The Liverpool Hospital is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for dedicated, hardworking, and adaptable Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team, working across both the Cardiac Cath Lab and the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).

This role is suited to someone eager to expand their expertise in both the Cardiac Cath Lab and the CCU. As you gain competence, you will have the opportunity to undertake on-call shifts for the Cath Lab. The CCU offers shifts 24/7, providing flexibility and variety in your work schedule. We seek nurses with previous cardiac experience who are ready to build on their existing knowledge and skills.
You will bring a solid nursing foundation that will be enhanced through our comprehensive training and mentorship programs. We seek forward-thinking, enthusiastic nurses who are ready to engage in high-level cardiac care practices and contribute to our patient-centered approach.
What Youeaturell be Doing
The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.
Cardiac Cath Lab
- Scrubbing, scouting, and recovery of cardiac procedures, including coronary angiogram, electrophysiology studies/ablation, cardiac device procedures, pericardiocentesis, percutaneous coronary interventions and structural heart procedures.
- Cardiac diagnostic department recovery and participation during transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Providing after-hours on-call support for emergency procedures.
- Cardiac Clinic and patient preparation.
- Administering Medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Utilising Advance life support skills.
Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
- Monitoring and managing patients with acute cardiac conditions.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educating patients and their families about cardiac conditions and post-procedure care.
- Utilising critical thinking skills to assess and respond to complex patient needs.
- Utilising advanced cardiac life support skills in emergency situations.
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and documenting care accurately.
- Supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
Where youl be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
