Rates and Revenue Officer Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Rates and Revenue Officer to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and efficient rating information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain Council's Rating Information System to ensure effective generation of Council Rates and/or Service Charge Revenue.
* Perform rating accounting procedures, including dispatching rate notices, collecting rates, and levying fines on unpaid rates as per policy and the Local Government Act.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Research and respond to customer inquiries about assessment and rating queries.
* Maintain property records for Effluent Unit Charges, Waste Collection, and Regional Landscapes Levy purposes.
* Improve and maintain Council's rating procedures and provide advice to senior staff on legislative requirements and trends for rating purposes.
* Maintain Council's information Systems relating to rates, property, and permit matters.
* Perform ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.
