We are looking for a sharp, resilient Project Manager to lead a high-priority initiative: the end-to-end digitisation and automation of our Credit Policy and underwriting process. Our current environment is shifting from manual, legacy-heavy workflows to a streamlined, digital-first approach. This isn't just about implementing new software; it's about navigating an ambiguous landscape to redefine how we assess risk and deliver decisions to our customers. You will be the glue that holds this project together, working across Risk, Credit, IT, and Operations to move the needle from policy theory to automated reality. What you'll be doing End-to-End Delivery: Owning the project lifecycle from initial scoping and business case development through to go-live and post-implementation review. Driving Automation: Working closely with Credit Risk and Tech teams to translate complex credit policies into logical, automated decisioning engines. Managing Ambiguity: Taking high-level strategic goals and breaking them down into actionable workstreams when the "how" isn't always immediately clear. Stakeholder Orchestration: Acting as the central point of contact for multiple divisions. You'll need to manage competing priorities between the 'fast-paced' commercial teams and the 'risk-averse' compliance functions. Governance & Reporting: Keeping the project on track, managing budgets, and providing transparent, jargon-free updates to the Steering Committee. The Person we're looking for A Financial Services Veteran: You understand the stakes of a credit-sensitive environment. You know that a change in underwriting policy has ripple effects across capital requirements, compliance, and customer journeys. Comfortable in the "Grey Area": You don't need a perfectly polished brief to get started. You're happy to dig into the details, ask the awkward questions, and build the roadmap as you go. Cross-Functional Diplomat: You can speak "Risk" to the Credit Officers and "User Story" to the Developers. You are skilled at getting buy-in from departments that may have very different definitions of success. Results-Oriented: You have a track record of actually landing projects, not just managing them. You're focused on the "so what?"—ensuring the automation actually improves speed and accuracy. Experience & Skills Proven Track Record: Solid experience delivering complex projects within banking, lending, or broader financial services. Subject Matter Knowledge: Previous exposure to Credit Risk, Underwriting, or Lending platforms is a significant advantage. Methodology: A pragmatic approach to Project Management. Whether it's Prince2, Agile, or a hybrid, you use the tools that work for the task at hand. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English. You can distill complex technical hurdles into clear business decisions for senior management. Why this project? This is a chance to work on one of the most visible transformations in the business. By automating our underwriting process, you will directly impact our competitive edge in the market and the speed at which we can support our clients. It is a challenging, high-stakes role for a PM who enjoys being at the heart of genuine business change.
