Key Sales Role Overview
A driven individual is required to join our sales team as a Key Account Representative. The successful candidate will drive sales growth by providing tailored service solutions and product offerings.
This role requires regular local travel to customer sites and occasional regional travel for meetings, training, and account development.
Main Responsibilities
* Sales & Customer Relationship Management:
o Grow sales volume and market share in the assigned territory.
o Build strong partnerships with the existing customer base, focusing on increasing customer profitability and deepening the relationship beyond transactions.
o Expand value-added services through vertical integration and supply programs.
o Actively seek and educate new accounts on services and capabilities.
* Customer Service & Internal Coordination:
o Receive and process incoming customer calls, quotes, and orders.
o Review customer specifications to ensure accurate pricing and fulfillment.
o Maintain knowledge of current inventory across all divisions.
o Communicate with the warehouse, operations, credit, and inside sales teams to ensure satisfaction and order accuracy.
o Follow up with customers regarding pricing, quality, and delivery.
* Strategic Market Development:
o Analyze existing supply chain issues and develop tailored solutions to support customer operations.
o Collaborate closely with Inside Sales to optimize service and elevate the customer experience.
o Research competitors to identify strategic opportunities to increase market share.
o Provide market information to customers to help guide their business decisions.
* Problem Solving & Partnership Management:
o Actively engage in solving issues with internal teams and customers.
o Assume responsibility for clear and prompt communication across all phases of service delivery.
Requirements
* Previous sales experience in steel or manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of steel products.
* High school diploma or GED.
* Valid driver's license.
* Familiarity with computers and sales performance tracking tools.
* Solid mathematical skills.
