About us
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service works in collaboration with the Adult Mental Health Inpatient and Acute Care Teams, Primary Health as well as community and private sector providers to reduce symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.

About the role
* Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and reliable care is provided within the dynamic health environment of the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
* Support our Registered Nurses in the provision of person-centred care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.
* Use sound interpersonal and communication skills that support therapeutic nurse‐patient communications and working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Use nursing knowledge and skills to support and contribute to the delivery of patient centred care and to gain support to address patient care needs that are outside scope of practice.
* Organise own workload to facilitate planned nursing care and gain support from others if workload is not being achieved or patient care needs exceed scope of practice.
* Contributes to the development and review of care plans, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the patient.
* Monitor the impact of nursing care and maintain ongoing communication with the Registered Nurse regarding patient health and functional status to assist decision making and provision of care.
About you
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with an annual practicing certificate.
* Interpersonal and communication skills that support therapeutic nurse‐patient communications and working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Nursing knowledge and skills to competently assess, implement and evaluate patient care within scope of practice.
* Ability and motivation to continually progress own competency along the continuum from novice to advanced level.
* Contribution to continuous quality improvement in care delivery.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $88,846 p.a. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $37.00 - $39.27 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
