Senior Technical Architect Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to lead our digital transformation program in Canberra, Australia. This role provides end-to-end technical leadership across a major digital transformation project involving digital asset management, enterprise search, data migration, integration development, cloud services, and modern web and application platforms.
The technical vision defines the overall architecture for the program, spanning application, integration, data, cloud, security, and infrastructure layers. The architect will lead the development of solution designs, integration patterns, data models, security controls, and deployment architectures. They will work closely with delivery teams and SMEs to translate business requirements into technical designs that are feasible, maintainable, and aligned with long-term strategic needs.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Define the overall technical architecture for the program, encompassing application, integration, data, cloud, security, and infrastructure layers.
* Lead the creation of architectural artefacts, including solution designs, integration patterns, data models, security controls, and deployment architectures.
* Collaborate with delivery teams and SMEs to translate business requirements into viable, maintainable, and strategic-aligned technical designs.
* Provide technical oversight across multiple concurrent workstreams (e.g., DAM implementation, enterprise search, cloud services, UI/UX delivery, integrations, and data migration).
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will need to possess extensive experience as a Senior Technical Architect on complex, multi-platform digital transformation projects in government or similarly regulated environments. A strong background in cloud architecture (Azure and/or AWS) is essential, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring. Experience designing and integrating enterprise platforms such as DAM systems, enterprise search technologies, CRM or content platforms, and data repositories is also crucial.
You should have a deep understanding of software design principles, data modeling techniques, and cloud-based technologies. Additionally, you should be proficient in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions within strict timelines.
