Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.

About the role

The Manager, Family Violence Prevention Legal Service (FVPLS) Program oversees the funding, administration and performance of FVPLS providers in NSW, ensuring they deliver culturally safe, effective legal and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims/survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence. The role manages budgets, contracts, reporting, stakeholder relationships, policy advice and strategic projects to support program objectives and compliance with national agreements.

About you

You are an experienced and have a strong understanding of government‑funded programs and the administration of complex service agreements. You bring experience working collaboratively with First Nations organisations and have a deep appreciation for the importance of culturally safe, community‑controlled service delivery. Your background includes managing funding programs with performance, financial reporting and compliance requirements, and you are confident navigating contractual obligations with accuracy and integrity. You will lead the administration of federal funding for the Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services (FVPLS) Program in NSW, ensuring Legal Aid NSW meets its responsibilities as the delegated State Program Manager. Your ability to build respectful relationships, work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, and support services that assist victims and survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence will be key to your success in this role.

The essential requirements for this role

You must:

* Be willing to do a Criminal Record Check

* Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies).

* Experience and sound knowledge of program management.

* Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and/or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities.

* Ability to travel.
