We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Operational & Advisory Team in Sydney on a two-year contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute technical expertise and knowledge to report on current and emerging cyber security risks and trends.
* Support the development of best practice, technical cyber security advice within relevant strategies, programs, and policies across NSW Government.
* Conduct research, planning, and product development using a risk-based approach to create guidance that proactively supports NSW departments, agencies, and local councils in building cyber resilience.
* Identify, interpret, and analyse data using linking and statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns in data sets, and create inferences or insights.
* Produce reports, briefings, visualisations, and recommendations to advise Senior Leaders on supporting cyber security initiatives and service delivery.
* Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders through consultation and responsive advice, ensuring cyber security guidance aligns with their needs.
* Coordinate information collection for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes to contribute to the achievement of Branch outcomes.

* Have experience in research and proficiency with analysis tools like SPSS, Advanced Excel (Power Query), Tableau or Power BI.
* Possess data visualisation skills for creating interactive dashboards and reports.
* Have experience with Jira and Confluence administration and Salesforce CRM.
* Have experience of undertaking basic risk management activities.
* Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in cyber security, information security, risk management, digital, or ICT.
* Previous public sector experience is highly regarded.
* Be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance and pass a police check.
