About the Role
The Venue and Operations Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of technical and operational requirements across the building. This role ensures the building is a safe, compliant, and well maintained environment for tenants, staff, visitors, and contractors through proactive planning, responsive issue resolution, and continuous operational oversight. The Venue and Operations Manager will help to facilitate delivery of high-quality experiences for all who engage with ILA. This includes efficient rostering and management of technical production staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational: Manage the day-to-day operations of building facilities and immersive spaces.
* Develop and implement systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
* Responsible for efficient bump in and bump out of events and activities across the building.
* Systematically manage, maintain and coordinate technical infrastructure.
* Maintain all areas of the venue to provide consistently high levels of presentation and professionalism.
* Technical: Work with creative team and functions/events clients to ensure all spaces across the venue can facilitate the required technical elements of planned activities.
* Ensure all technical infrastructure is maintained and operating at the highest possible standard.
* Provide technical and operational advice to members of the team for scoping and facilitating technical requirements of activities across the venue as required.
* Liaise with external clients and suppliers to ensure we have the equipment and resources required to provide a seamless experience for clients in our venues.
* Staff management: Schedule and manage technical and front of house staff to deliver production, venue logistics and set up requirements for events and activities.
* Oversee rostering of technical crew/staff, ensuring legal award requirements are adhered to, and approve relevant team timesheets for payroll on a weekly basis.
* Lead the tech team in all elements of delivering high quality programming experiences for artists and patrons.
* Health & Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to safety standards and risk-management practices.
* A degree of flexibility is required to ensure a high standard of quality and efficiency, and the employee may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above.
* This is a full-time role requiring a flexible work schedule that includes evenings and weekends from time to time to work on events and productions, so a willingness to be flexible with work hours is required.

* Capacity and willingness to work a schedule that includes evenings and weekends as required
* Experience and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in venue management and operations
* An understanding of technical production management, and technical production aspects of events
* Working knowledge of arts venue operations
* Staff management and rostering
* Tertiary qualifications in arts production, technical operations or appropriate industry experience.
* Advanced IT (computer hardware, software and multimedia) literacy
