Our client is a global infrastructure and resources organisation with a large corporate office based here in Brisbane. Operating an impressive supply chain across Australia, they are a well-known and respected employer who are experiencing continued growth and success in their business units.
The Commercial Manager is a leadership role focused on driving best practice procurement activities across Australia, as well as managing warehousing operations based on site. With a team of category & supply chain specialists, this role will provide guidance and direction to enable the business to maximise the value they receive from suppliers/contractors.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development of category, supplier, and sourcing strategies and team of procurement professionals
- Establish and drive business relationships with C-Suite executives and senior stakeholders, ensuring procurement activities are aligned and key KPI's are determined
- Identify and innovate existing procurement solutions that provide efficiencies for the organization and their supply chain
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and business units, striving to deliver commercial outcomes for the business
- Evaluate vendor performance against metrics, provide expert advice across all areas of procurement and category management
- Manage warehouse operations focusing on safety, vendor & internal DIFOT, data management, and inventory optimisation
- Facilitating the implementation of procurement change, encouraging innovation in procurement & supply chain strategies, policies, and business
- Negotiate commercial terms, drive negotiations with senior stakeholders
- Assist in developing and implementing strategic commercial plans, analysis of expenditure and opportunities from purchasing activities
About You:
This role is well suited to a mature, motivated, and passionate Procurement & Supply Chain Leader who brings success in complex and large-scale operations. You will be a commercial thinker who excels in senior stakeholder relationships, as well as bringing a well-rounded background across category management, supplier management, negotiations, and delivering on procurement change, projects, and/or initiatives. Ideally you will bring experience in leading teams and managing staff.
